The EDF brings a wealth of experience as a recognised Training Provider to companies and people who see the value of formal and structured training as the way to develop skills and knowledge for a rewarding career in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
Structured training programmes are agreed with the employer who has made a commitment to recruiting and training apprentices. Apprentices follow a structured Personal Development Plan throughout their 3 - 4 year apprenticeship.
To meet the criteria of the apprenticeship schemes, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's) need to be installed as part of the development and qualification route. The EDF offers NVQ's in all aspects of the Engineering and Manufacturing Industries.
Apprenticeship opportunities occur in the following aspects of engineering:
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Electronic
- Welding & Fabrication
- Instrumentation
- Maintenance
A fully experienced EDF Personal Development Partner gives one-to-one support to those following Apprentice training programmes.
This support is based upon regular visits to monitor and encourage the learning processes, along with ensuring that the appropriate Further Education is correctly identified and individual performance meets all requirements.
All programmes feature the following elements.
- Employee work based training (paid to learn)
- Further Education (day release on Technical Certificate)
- National Vocational Qualifications to Levels 2/3/4
- Key Skills Levels 2/3
- Structured training programmes
The EDF also assist employers with the process of recruitment. We test and interview potential candidates prior to company interviews, this means that the employer is presented with a clearer profile of candidates thereby easing the recruitment process.
The EDF Ltd promotes Equality of Opportunities with all of their employers. We welcome applications for training opportunities from all sectors of the community.
We are an organisation inspected by Ofsted, you may read their report and grading awarded at the last inspection. Please follow the link http://www.ofsted.gov.uk click on inspection reports.
